Physician Asthma Care Education

  This course date has passed.
Course Number: Asthma 13
Course Title: Physician Asthma Care Education
Course Description: PACE is a two-part interactive seminar to improve physician awareness, ability, and use of communication and therapeutic techniques for asthma management. Physicians who participated in PACE spent no more time with their patients than other physicians, but the patients had:
• fewer days affected by asthma symptoms
• fewer emergency room visits

The PACE program was created to enhance treatment of asthma and the physician-patient partnership. PACE provides education for clinicians on how to employ the best current therapies for asthma. It also provides valuable information on how to communicate more effectively with patients and support patients' management efforts, helping them to better utilize the clinicians' recommendations. Your leadership and involvement in the PACE program can result in significant change in your practice community and enhancements in how your colleagues help their patients to function more fully.

Part I of the training will occur on August 12 with dinner provided from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and the class from 6:30-9:00 p.m. Part II will occur on August 26 with the same schedule.

Application for CME credit has been filed with the American Academy of Physicians. Determination of credit is pending.
